Our existence
In this earthly form
Is a deception
In divine plan.
Conception’s the very first act,
The first pathetic and stumbling step
On a ruthless, one-way road to death.
Embryos and larvae,
All the germs from Earth’s clay -
Each cell carries the devastation,
Fate is coded in the genome,
It is fulfilled by the utmost breath.
Tender shoots and frail sprouts,
All the mundane life forms -
Fight darkly against divine order,
Sail close to the wind to disaster.
Life’s a firm process of agony,
An unstoppable drift to nonentity.
We all are
Forlorn mutts
Of something
Other than God.
Something other than God
Something other than God
Something other than God
Other than God
Like all elements
Turn into iron,
So we become
Shades of the past.
Awareness of evanescence,
Futility of existence,
Humans suffer from the burden of lore.
We search for sense to live on
Try to find the reason –
In this world of hate and darkness
We yearn for light and loving-kindness
Happiness and welfare we strive for,
But we’re sons of chaos,
Sunken deep in pathos -
Our pain allays an immense hunger,
Our fears enhance an endless power.
Life’s a firm process of agony,
An unstoppable drift to nonentity.
We all are
Forlorn mutts
Of something
Other than God.
Something other than God
Something other than God
Something other than God
Other than God
